Egypt is set to host the inaugural Alamein Africa Forum from October 2 to 4, 2026, bringing together African political leaders, business executives, financial institutions and investors to explore opportunities for economic transformation across the continent.

The forum will take place in New Alamein, Egypt’s emerging fourth-generation smart city, which combines modern infrastructure, residential developments, international universities, cultural attractions, tourism projects and investment facilities.

More than 20 African Heads of State and Government representatives are expected to attend, alongside senior executives from leading international and regional financial institutions and key players in sectors shaping Africa’s economic future.

The forum is being co-organised by the Government of Egypt, African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), and the African Union Development Agency–New Partnership for Africa’s Development (AUDA-NEPAD).

Focus on investment and economic transformation

The Alamein Africa Forum is designed to strengthen public-private sector cooperation and unlock investment opportunities across Africa and international markets.

Discussions will focus on areas including infrastructure, trade, critical minerals, digital innovation, healthcare, energy, manufacturing and intra-African trade.

The programme will feature high-level plenary sessions, sector-specific panels and closed-door roundtable discussions. Dedicated sessions will also examine Egypt’s position as a regional gateway to African markets.

Business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-government (B2G) meetings will provide opportunities for companies, investors and governments to develop concrete partnerships and investment deals.

Forum to become permanent African business platform

The inaugural event is intended to establish the Alamein Africa Forum as a permanent biennial African business forum in Egypt.

The 2026 edition will be held alongside the African Union Mid-Year Coordination Meeting and the 33rd Annual Meetings of Afreximbank.

Organisers say the forum will provide a platform for translating the African Union’s Agenda 2063 vision into practical economic initiatives while helping shape Africa’s economic priorities for the coming decade.

The forum comes at a time of shifting global alliances and increased economic uncertainty, with organisers emphasising the need for African countries and businesses to play a greater role in determining the continent’s economic future.

They say the gathering will seek to promote reforms that reduce investment risks, improve access to capital, strengthen cross-border partnerships and place the private sector more prominently in African Union decision-making.
