Digital payments company Zeepay Ghana Limited has responded to media reports concerning an ongoing legal dispute over an alleged US$11.6 million refund, clarifying that the matter has not been finally determined and remains before the Court of Appeal.
The company’s response follows reports that the High Court had ordered Zeepay and its Chief Executive Officer, Andrew Takyi-Appiah, to refund more than US$11.6 million in connection with a failed funds transfer transaction.
In a statement issued on Monday, June 29, 2026, Zeepay cautioned the public against treating the reports as the final outcome of the dispute.
Case before Court of Appeal
Zeepay said the matter remains active before the courts and is awaiting determination by the Court of Appeal.
The company said some media reports did not accurately reflect the current legal status of the case and indicated that any inaccuracies would be addressed through the appropriate legal channels.
“This matter remains before the courts, pending determination by the Court of Appeal,” the company stated.
Zeepay also invoked the principle of sub judice, saying it would refrain from making further public comments that could interfere with the judicial process.
The company urged the public and its stakeholders to treat unverified reports about the case with caution until the appellate court reaches its determination.
Operations remain unaffected
Despite the ongoing legal proceedings, Zeepay said its day-to-day operations remain unaffected.
Management assured customers, employees and other stakeholders that the company continues to operate while the legal matter is being considered by the Court of Appeal.
Zeepay said it remains committed to upholding the rule of law and respecting the integrity of the judicial process.
